Local knowledge
Guidebooks give you the highlights. This is the short version — water, wine, trails, and the rest — with the real detail saved for when you're actually here.

Seven things worth knowing about
Water
Everyone thinks I'm exaggerating about the colour until they see it. Kalamalka really does look like someone tipped turquoise paint into a lake — ten minutes away, no filter needed.
Winery
Forty-ish wineries within a short drive, and I still haven't made it to all of them. Ask me for my current favourite — it changes with the season, and how I'm feeling that week.
Dining
I've got opinions on this one. A patio for a lazy lunch, somewhere to dress up for, somewhere fast and good. Ask me when you get here — it depends on your mood that day anyway.
Trails
Eighteen old railway trestles strung across the canyon, barely any real climbing involved — just walk and gawk. Bring your camera. Rent a bike if walking all eighteen sounds like a lot.
Music Festival
Mission Hill hosts real concerts in an open-air amphitheatre surrounded by vineyards — the kind of evening that sounds made up until you're sitting there with a glass of wine, watching the sun go down over the lake. Ask me who's playing while you're here; the lineup changes all summer.
Your local ambassador
This page is just a starting point — the real guide is a conversation. Tell me what you're into and how long you're staying, and I'll put together a plan that actually fits your trip.
